The United States Golf Association on August 2, 2005 awarded Longhills Junior Golf Foundation $60,000 grant to help support the construction of synthetic greens on the three-hole junior course and to support instruction in the program.  USGA Green Section Committee Member Keith Ihms,  also Country Club of Little Rock Superintendent, presented the check to Jeff Hamm, Golf Professional and Bud Buskin, Longhills Superintendent, the check.   The junior program at Longhills is more than likely one of the largest in the country for one single club to run in that Jeff and Bud have some 450 kids enrolled.  They also close their course some 10 Tuesdays for the kids which is pretty remarkable since Longhills is a daily fee course.  That only shows their dedication to teaching young people the game of golf. Congratulations to Jeff and Bud for an outstanding job of carrying on this junior program that is now some 30 years old.
