INTRODUCTION The ASGA is sponsoring this Mixed Team Championship to satisfy the competitive skills of Arkansas Golfers who enjoy participating in mixed events.
ELIGIBILITY The ASGA Mixed Team Championship is open to amateur golfers. The team shall consist of one male and one female golfer and both players must be individual members of the ASGA and a member of a club or a golf association that is an associate member of the ASGA. Players are not required to be husband and wife and are not required to be member of the same club.
FORMAT: Shamble: Both players drive from appropriate tees and select the best drive. From there, both players play their own ball until the ball is holed. The Mixed Team Overall Champion will come from the Shamble format. Based on the number of teams, more than one flight could be established in the Shamble format.
Scramble: Both players drive from appropriate tees and select the best drive. From there, the team continues to select the best shot of the two until the ball is holed. Based on the number of teams, more than one flight could be established in the Scramble format.
FIELD The Field is limited to the first 60 teams who meet the eligibility requirements. The field will play 18 holes Saturday and 18 holes Sunday.
PRACTICE ROUND: A Practice round may be played on Friday, October 3 for cart fee. Please call the pro shop to make your reservations. The head golf professional is Trey Miller and the shop number is 501-362-3131.
ENTRY FEE: The entry fee of $200.00 includes your cart for both days, range balls and a $40 per team certificate good for food at Red Apple Inn.
FLIGHTS The number of flights will be determined in each division by the number of entries and teams will be flighted after Saturday's round. Teams may declare for the Championship flight.
MINIMUM AGE: The minimum age for both contestants is 18 years of age.
TIME OF STARTING: Tee times will begin at 9:00 a.m.
PRIZES Prizes will be gift certificates from the Red Apple Inn Golf Shop.
HOTEL: The Red Apple Inn is the headquarters hotel and are offering a rate of $89.00 per night for room with two doubles. Normal rate is $125.00.
