Mixed Team Championship

October 4-5, 2008

Introduction:  The ASGA is sponsoring this Mixed Team Championship to satisfy the competitive skills of Arkansas Golfers who enjoy participating in mixed events.

Eligibility:  The ASGA Mixed Team Championship is open to amateur golfers.  The team shall consist of one male and one female golfer, and both players must be individual members of the ASGA.  Players are not required to be husband and wife, and are not required to be members of the same club. Minimum age for both contestants is 18 years of age.

Formats:  Shamble:  Both players drive from appropriate tees, and select the best drive.  From there, both players play their own ball until the ball is holed.  (The Mixed Team Champion will come from the shamble division). Based on the number of teams, more than one flight could be established in the Shamble Format.
 

Scramble:  Both players drive from appropriate tees, and select the best drive.  From there, the team continues to select the best shot of the two until the ball is holed. Based on the number of teams, more than one flight could be established in the Scramble Format.

Field:  The field is limited to the first 60 teams who meet eligibility requirements.  The field will play 18 holes Saturday, and 18 holes Sunday.

ENTRY FEE:
The entry fee of $200.00 includes your cart for both days, range balls and a $40 per team certificate good for food at Red Apple Inn.

Practice Round:  A practice round may be played on Friday, October 3 with payment of a cart fee.  Please call the pro shop at 501-362-3131 to make your tee time.  The head golf professional is Trey Miller.

Prizes:  Prizes will be gift certificates from the Red Apple Inn Golf Shop.

Flights:  The number of flights will be determined by the number of entries and teams will be flighted after
Saturday’s round.  Teams may declare for the Championship Flight.

Starting Time:  Tee times will begin at 9:00 AM.

HOTEL: The Red Apple Inn is the headquarters hotel and are offering a rate of $89.00 per night for room with two doubles.  Normal rate is $125.00.  The Red Apple also has condos available in 2 bedroom for $185.00 per night or 1 bedroom for $155.00 per night.  The number to call is 1-800-RED-APPLE (733-2775) and ask for reservations.  .

We understand that our entry is subject to rejection at any time during the tournament by the ASGA Women’s Committee
or the host club.  The reason for rejection may include unbecoming conduct.  Any questions shall be settled by the ASGA Women’s Committee, whose decision is final.  We hereby acknowledge that the Arkansas State Golf Association and the host club are not responsible for personal injury during this championship.  We have read the USGA Rules of Amateur Status and we conform with those rules in every respect.
