2008 ASGA Monk Wade Father & Son Championship Fayetteville Country Club & ELIGIBILITY: This competition is restricted to a Father & Son or Step-Father & Step-Son who have lived in the same household. Father-in-Law & Son-in-Law teams may participate (see information below). If only one team member lives in Arkansas, he MUST be an active ASGA individual member with a current handicap index. If both team members live in Arkansas, both MUST be active ASGA individual members with current handicap indexes. An out-of-state player must complete the handicap verification at the bottom of the entry form or mail a copy of their handicap card. The minimum age is 14. Only two-player teams are accepted. SIZE OF FIELD: Limited to the first 200 teams on a first come basis. Teams will be assigned to flights based on current handicap index. DIVISION FOR Professionals who are employed or associated with ASGA member clubs and courses are eligible to compete. PROFESSIONALS: Professionals under the age of 55 will play from scratch (0). Professionals over the age of 55 can use their handicap index. Format/Course: The same format will be used at both courses – six holes of best ball, six holes of alternate shot, and six holes of scramble each day. Teams will play one course Monday and the other course Tuesday. Prizes: The 200 teams will have 50 teams in each shotgun or 25 groups of four. Pro shop gift certificates from each club will be awarded to approximately one-half of each flight in both gross and net. Teams cannot win both gross and net prize. There will be special events for long-drive and closest to the hole at both courses. CENTURY FLIGHT : With the addition of the Super-Senior Flight the Century flight has been eliminated.Super-Senior
Flight: The Super-Senior Flight was added in 2003 for teams with one player
at least age 70. If one team member is age 70 or older, he will play from the senior
tees. Teams in this Super-Senior Flight will only be competing against each
other. Father-in-Law & Son-in-Law: Father-in-Law and Son-in-Law teams may participate in the ASGA Monk Wade Father and Son Championship. The same eligibility applies as above. These teams will compete in the regular division and not in a separate flight and will compete for the overall Father & Son Championship, unless they qualify for the Super-Senior Flight. GRANDFATHER/GRANDSON FLIGHT: After several requests over the years, the ASGA is proud to announce a Grandfather/Grandson Flight in the 2008 ASGA Monk Wade Father & Son Championship June 9-10 at Fayetteville Country Club and Stonebridge Meadows Country Club.This effort to satisy those requests, will be in a trial basis for 2008 and may or may not be offered in the future. There will be a limit of 20 teams, which would provide two flights divided based on team handicap. These two flights will be playing for gift certificates in gross and net in each flight, but would not be eligible for the overall Father & Son championship. Grandfathers & Grandsons are only eligible for this flight. PRATICE ROUND: One team member will receive practice round information. STARTING TIMES: Both days will be a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Participants will be notified of each day’s starting time. It will also be posted on the ASGA website. www.asga.org. ENTRY FEE: The entry fee is $150 per player or $300 per team. An additional fee of $10 for online sign-up. LODGING: The ASGA headquarters hotel will be the Clarion Inn of Fayetteville located conveniently at I-540 and Hwy 62 Intersection, Exit 62.
