Arkansas Wins the Mid-South Cup Matches
by one shot over Texas.

After getting off to a fantastic start in the 4-ball & alternate shot competition on Friday by the team shooting -28 in the 4-ball and +8 in the alternate shot Arkansas managed to hang on to a one shot advantage over Texas and three shots over Oklahoma after shooting + 20 in the singles matches.  Scoring format went as follows.  In the teamed events, 4-ball & alternate shot, 5 scores from the 6 mid-am teams were used and 1 score from the 2 senior teams were used.  In the singles matches 10 out of 12 mid-am scores counted and 3 out of 4 senior scores counted.  For the past 25 years the Mid-South Cup Matches has been match play and for the first time 2004 was stroke play.   The last time the Arkansas Team won the Mid-South Cup Matches was in 1991.
