ASGA 2-Man Scramble

August 25-26, 2017

On August 25-26, 2017 the ASGA will host the first annual 2-Man Scramble.  The tournament will take place at Hot Springs Village (Magellan Golf Club).  The cost of the tournament is $175 per player or $350 per team.

The idea for the ASGA 2-Man scramble came about in discussing "fun" events that would generate large fields.  The Players Advisory Committee decided a scramble would be a beneficial adition to the ASGA to get more individuals involved in the game of golf.

"With the USGA moving toward an annual Best Ball, and the ASGA Best Ball being one of our most popular events, the Scramble made sense," ASGA president, Chris Jenkins said.

Not only does this event provide an entry for higher handicappers into an ASGA event but it also allows all age brackets, Open Division to Super Senior, a chance to compete against each other.  In this event, each player in the Scramble will play from their own tees.   The event is also flighted which gives more opportunities to win a prize if a team did not have the best first round.

In the future, Jenkins says, "We hope to expand this event to include ladies as well.  It would also be nice to have this type of event trigger other similar events in other divisions (juniors, ladies, handicap) that dont have something like this now."
