ASGA/AWGA Women's Scramble
April 24-25, 2018 - Maumelle Country Club
We kicked off the 2018 season with a great event at a great golf course. The 2018 ASGA/AWGA Women's Scramble was a great chance for our ladies to reconnect after a long and cold winter. 32 teams (four more than last year!) came out to Maumelle CC to enjoy great golf and great company. The winners of the Championship flight were Nora Phillips and Pat Elliot with an impressive two day total of 128 (-16) to run away with the win. Our second flight winners were Mimi Evans and Paula Moore (143), our third flight winners were Karen Carter and Pam "Rookie" Evans (149), our fourth flight winners were Kay Havens and Janet Ketzscher (159), and our fifth flight winners were Michele Larson and Sherrie Nichols (163). Thank you to everyone who participated in this event and thank you for your support of the Arkansas State Golf Association.
ASGA/AWGA Women's Eclectic
May 14-15, 2018 - Harbor Oaks Golf Course
The 2018 ASGA/AWGA Women's Eclectic was hosted at Harbor Oaks, a gem on the Natural State Golf Trail. This event is always a fun time for everyone. As you may know, our eclectic is a "ringer," format held over two days, with the first day being similar to four ball. We had great, albeit warm, weather and a great golf course at our disposal. 20 teams joined us for a fun couple of days at Harbor Oaks. The championship flight winners were Nora Elliott and Pat Phillips, and so far they are cleaning up at the team events! Their total was an impressive 66. The second flight winners were Jana Vinson and Tonia Grace (75), and the third flight winners were Cippy Smith (co-chair of the Women's Committee) and Robin Berry (78). We want to thank everyone who participated in this event and everyone who helped make sure it was a great time! Thank you for your support of the Arkansas State Golf Association.

Arkansas Women's Stroke Play Championship
July 17-18, 2018 - Pine Bluff Country Club
The Arkansas Women's Stroke Play Championship provided fierce competition! This year, the event was only two days instead of three, to ease travel and expenses for ladies coming to Pine Bluff from out of town. As a result, the competition was formidable. Some holes at Pine Bluff CC gave the ladies a run for their money. But even though the competition was tough, these ladies enjoyed two great days of fellowship. The 2018 Arkansas Women's Stroke Play Champion was Maria "Emma" Edwards with a very impressive two day total of 150. The 2018 Arkansas Senior Women's Stroke Play Champion was Paula Curtis with a great two day total of 162, and the 2018 Arkansas Master Women's Stroke Play Champion was Rhonda Haynes with an awesome two day total of 165. These ladies held their own against tough competition to come out victorious in their divisions. We want to thank all those who participated for being a part of this event and for supporting the Arkansas State Golf Association.

Fore States Cup Matches
July 30-August 1, 2018 - Muskogee Golf Club
Fore States is a team event held every year between Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas. This year it was Oklahoma's turn to host this prestigious event, and a team of 12 talented ladies (6 "Amateurs," ages 39 and under; 6 "Mid-amateurs," ages 40 and over) traveled to Muskogee Golf Club to represent the great state of Arkansas. Our "Amateur" team was comprised of Taylor Loeb (Henderson), Taylor Reed (Henderson), Allie Weiner (Arkansas Tech), MaKenzie Douglas (Arkansas Tech), Audrey Pulliam (William and Mary), and Brooke Matthews (U of A). Our "Mid-amateur team" was comprised of Julie Oxendine (Dover), Nora Phillips (Hot Springs), Kerry Lareau (Little Rock), Brenda Carr (Bentonville), Brenda Alexander (Bentonville), and Lisa Varney (Sherwood). The Arkansas led the pack in the Singles matches, but fell short in Four Ball and Foursome matches to end up tied for second with Missouri at 12.5 points. The Oklahoma team won this year with a total of 14 points. The Arkansas State Golf Association is proud to bring this event back to Arkansas in 2019, to be hosted at Shadow Valley in Rogers. We can't wait to see how well the team does next year, in our home state.
ASGA/AWGA NWA Championship
August 4-5, 2018 - Eagle Crest Golf Course
Rounding out our designated events for the year was the 2018 ASGA/AWGA NWA Championship, held at Eagle Crest Golf Cours in Alma, AR. 12 ladies came out and enjoyed two days of individual stroke play at a great golf course and competed for Player of the Year points. Winner of the Championship Division was Julie Oxendine (Dover) with an impressive two day total of 145 (74, 71), and winner of the Senior Division (Open Division) was Jo Ann Winstead (Fort Smith) with an impressive two day total of 155 (76, 79). We were excited and very grateful to get to host a designated event closer to NWA. So many talented players reside in that region of the state, that we hope to continue this tradition and have at least one designated event in NWA each year. Our hope for 2019 is to have two in Central AR and one in NWA (or around it). We want to thank the golf course and everyone who participated for their continued support of the Arkansas State Golf Association.

2016 Tournament Results
May 11-12, 2016 (rain date) I Hot Springs Country Club Park Course
28 teams came out to kick off the ASGA Women's season at Hot Springs Country Club. Unfortunately, the first attempt for the event was washed out, but rescheduling efforts resulted in 2 amazing days of weather for these ladies to compete. In the third flight, there was a three way tie for 1st place between Brenda Sallee/Sherrie Nichols, Diane Pennington/Gayle Bowman, and Linda Braswell/T Lynn Cox. All three teams produced a 36 hole total of 152. In the second flight, Beth Foster/Paula Moore from Pine Bluff came in third place with a two day total of 144. Team Teresa Horn/Vicki DeLaughter found the 2nd place spot with a score of 141. The first place finishers of the second flight were Liz Bartels/Sherry Heffner (the 2015 scramble champions) with a score of 137. Red numbers covered the scoreboard in the first flight. Taking the third spot with a score of 135 was the Hot Springs Village team of Cassandra Groh/Deborah Johnson. Taking the runner-up title was Heather Wall/Phyllis Thomas with a competitive score of 132. With an impressive two day score of 130, Team Catherine Walsh/Carrie Hall claimed the 2016 Scramble Champion Title.
Thanks to everyone who came out to participate. The event was a great success!
May 23-24, 2016 I Maumelle Country Club
Maumelle Country Club gave these 46 ladies two perfect days of golf! Mother Nature couldn't have been nicer to us for the 2016 Eclectic Tournament. This event is always a fun way continue to spring golf season, as only an 18 hole score is the objective of this format. Eclectic is similar to a "ringer" format, where day 1, ladies play four-ball; and the second day, they four-ball again, but the objective is to better your score from the day before (ie, if Sally and Mary four-ball a 4 on a particular hole during day 1, and Mary makes a 3 the following day, the 3 replaces the 4).
In the third flight, there was a two tie for second between team of Cippy Smith/Robin Berry and Linda Braswell/Teresa Horn who both shot an eclectic score of 79. The first place finisher in that flight were Sharon Fair/Pam Zuber of Heber Springs with a score of 78. There was also a two way tie for second in the second flight. Paula Curtis/Kathy Bay and Ann Church/Linda Thompson both scored an 18 hole total of 74. Donna Mahle/Kathy Norris of Hot Springs Village took the top spot with a 72. In the first flight, Sherry Heffner/Paula Moore and Pat Elliott/Katie Spier both tied in the runner up spot with a score of 70. The team of Heather Wall/Phyllis Thomas swept the field with an incredible score of 64. Congrats to the 2016 Eclectic Champions Heather and Phyllis!!
