Code of Conduct
The Arkansas State Golf Association (ASGA) is committed to upholding the integrity and traditions of amateur golf while fostering a respectful and competitive environment for all participants. To ensure a positive experience for all players, volunteers, and spectators, the ASGA Code of Conduct must be followed at all times—both during ASGA events and in all other golfing environments.
Violations of the Code of Conduct
Violations include, but are not limited to:
- Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g., abusive language, cheating, club throwing, disrespecting volunteers, officials, competitors, or course staff, and damage to course property).
- Use of drugs, alcohol, or tobacco products.
- Failure to adhere to the dress code of ASGA or the host club.
- Physical or verbal abuse, including threats directed at players, parents, staff, or volunteers.
- Parental caddying prohibition—parents are not permitted to caddy for their child in ASGA junior events. Players may only receive advice from their designated caddy.
Dress Code Requirements
Proper golf attire is mandatory at all times on the course, practice facilities, and within the clubhouse. The following dress code applies:
- Prohibited attire: Short shorts, tank tops, T-shirts, jeans.
- Headwear: Hats and visors must be worn with the brim forward.
- Shirts: Collared shirts or mock turtlenecks must be worn and tucked in at all times.
- Footwear: Shoes must comply with the dress regulations of the host golf course.
Code of Conduct Violations & Penalties
Any violation of the ASGA Code of Conduct may result in penalties, disqualification, suspension, or revocation of membership privileges, depending on the severity and frequency of the offense. Players and their parent/guardian will receive written notification in cases of repeated violations or suspensions.
Additionally, any player exhibiting inappropriate behavior while representing the ASGA may be removed from competition at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. Such removal will be classified as a "removal from the field by the Committee," rather than a disqualification by rule. Removal may result in the loss of future ASGA tournament participation opportunities.
