2026 ASGA Men's Match-Play Championship

August 6-9, 2026
Eligibility: Open to male amateur golfers who are residents of Arkansas and current individual members of ASGA. Amateur – 16+, Mid-Amateur – 25+, Senior – 50+, Super Senior – 60+, Legends (formerly Masters) – 70+
Handicap Index Requirement: Amateurs and Mid-Amateurs: USGA handicap index of 8.0 or less. Seniors, Super Seniors, and Legends: USGA handicap index of 14.0 or less. All players must meet the age requirement by August 6, 2026
Entry Fee: The entry fee is $150 for all participants. Entries may be paid online at www.asga.org using a credit card. The deadline to enter is August 3rd at 4:00 P.M., or until the field is full. Entries that do not meet the requirements will be returned.
Format: Contestants in all divisions (unless exempt) will play 18 holes on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Burns Park Golf Course to determine the bracket. The stipulated round consists of two 9-hole rounds. In case of inclement weather, brackets could be based on a 9-hole score.

Bracket Exemptions: Amateur division: 32 players (64 of 48+ entrants). Mid-Amateur, Senior, Super-Senior & Legends divisions: 8 players (16 for 12+ entrants, 32 for 24+ entrants) If bracket spots exceed the number of players, top qualifiers (including exempt players) may receive a first-round bye.
Additional Exemptions as of August 6, 2026, in addition to defending champions:
8-man bracket: 1st in PofY standings & 2026 Ark. Am Champion in that division
16-man bracket: Top 3 in PofY & 2026 Ark. Am Champion
32-man bracket: Top 6 in PofY & 2026 Ark. Am Champion
64-man bracket: Top 12 in PofY & 2026 Ark. Am Champion
Note: Players who decline an exemption to qualify for a lower seed forfeit the exemption.
Schedule of Events:
Wednesday, August 5 – Practice round (tee markers set)
Thursday, August 6 – Qualifying round (Defending champions are exempt and seeded #1 in their respective divisions: Andrew Hopkins, Steve Wilson, Chris Jenkins, Bob Baker, and Cal Campbell)
Friday, August 7 – First round in A.M. for all divisions & second round in P.M. for AMATEUR division only
Saturday, August 8– All divisions play a match in A.M. - 8-player bracket: SEMI-FINALS in A.M., CHAMPIONSHIP in P.M. If the bracket is a 16-player bracket: QUARTER-FINALS in A.M., SEMI-FINALS in P.M. If the bracket is a 32-player bracket: QUARTER-FINALS in A.M., SEMI-FINALS in P.M.
Sunday, August 9 – if the bracket is 32, the Championship match will be in the A.M. If the bracket is 64, the semi-finals will be in the A.M. and the Championship Match will be in the P.M. Please note bracket sizes above - a 64-man bracket, a minimum of 48 players must be entered. If the bracket size is 16 players, the CHAMPIONSHIP Match will be in the AM.
Practice Round: Wednesday, August 6 or another time with approval of the golf shop (501-906-6400). Steve Ralston is the PGA Professional.
Prizes: The amateur champion will have name inscribed on the Roy Wood Trophy. The winner and runner-up in all divisions will receive individual trophies. Pro Shop Certificates will be awarded based on field size in all divisions. Prize breakdown will be posted.
Refund Policy: Participants who withdraw before the registration deadline will receive a full refund, minus a $25 processing fee. No refunds will be issued after the registration deadline.
