Close competition and steady play defined the 2025 ASGA Men’s Senior Amateur, with titles decided on the final day.
The Arkansas State Golf Association concluded the 2025 ASGA Men’s Senior Amateur Championship this past weekend at Searcy Country Club, presented by UAMS Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. A field of 42 players competed in the three-round championship, which continues to serve as the premier event for senior amateur golf in the state.
Arkansas has a strong tradition in senior golf, with local players making their mark on both state and national stages. That tradition includes the U.S. Senior Amateur champions, brothers Stan and Louis Lee, who claimed national titles in 2007 and 2011. Their accomplishments remain a point of pride for Arkansas golf and reflect the depth of talent among senior competitors.
The championship is divided into three age-based divisions, Senior, Super Senior, and Legends, each of which produced close finishes that weren’t decided until the final round.
In the Legends Division, Ben Loftis and Stan Stockton provided a competitive showdown. Loftis held steady through three rounds to win the division title for the third year in a row. His consistency makes him the player to beat in the Legends.
The Super Senior Division also saw a tight race through the first two days. Bobby Baker and Bev Hargraves both put themselves in contention, but it was the consistent Bob Brooks who pulled ahead on the final day. Brooks put together a steady closing round, finishing one under par, which gave him the edge and secured the division championship.
The Senior Division featured some of the closest competition of the weekend. Brent Winston entered the final round with the lead, with several players, including Dwayne Cox, Chris Jenkins, and defending champion Mark Graham, close behind. On the last day, Graham delivered the strongest performance of the tournament with a four-under-par final round that lifted him to the top of the leaderboard. The win marked Graham’s second consecutive ASGA Men’s Senior Amateur title.
The 2025 championship highlighted both the high level of play and the camaraderie that makes senior golf unique. Each division came down to the final day, with players demonstrating steady play and competitive spirit throughout the weekend.
The ASGA extends its congratulations to this year’s champions: Mark Graham in the Senior Division, Bob Brooks in the Super Senior Division, and Ben Loftis in the Legends Division. A big thank you to Searcy Country Club for hosting and to UAMS Health Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine for their support as presenting sponsor.
