Phyllis Thomas Pink Ball at Diamante Country Club:

The week began at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village with the annual Phyllis Thomas Pink Ball, the largest women’s event of the year. Held in honor of Phyllis Thomas, a respected businesswoman who built Harbor Oaks Golf Club and played a pivotal role in promoting golf in Arkansas, the event drew a record-breaking field of 120 players across 30 teams.
Despite the extreme heat, the competition was fierce, and the camaraderie was just as strong. Congratulations to this year’s winners: Alyssa Hagewood, Donna Hagewood, Haley Arzaga, and Miae Ahnheo.

Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Maumelle Country Club:

Next up was the Women’s Senior Amateur Championship, a fun and competitive two-day event at Maumelle Country Club. Three divisions crowned state champions:
Senior Division: Julie Oxendine
Super Senior Division: Kim Robinson
Legends Division: Rebecca Huber
These women showcased outstanding skill and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

Mid-Amateur Championship at Chenal Country Club:

The week wrapped up with the Mid-Amateur Championship at Chenal Country Club, a three-day event featuring an incredible field and a course in pristine condition. Thanks to Lumber One, each champion took home a Big Green Egg Grill, adding an extra layer of excitement to the competition.
On the women’s side, Monica Blake dominated from start to finish, leading each day and securing the title by an impressive eight strokes.
The men’s division, on the other hand, was anybody’s game from beginning to end. With different leaders each day, it came down to the final two players on the 18th hole, where Andrew Hopkins clinched the victory.

Thank you to all the players, volunteers, and sponsors who made this busy week possible. Your dedication and passion for the game keep Arkansas golf thriving!
